The work Circumnavigation 9.57°N 078.82°W is a designart necklace which is made of brass, Kevlar marine braided rope and piece of rolled paper. Kineret Avivi describes: “I have been inspired by the marine rope thimble shape which leaded me to create the ‘box’ shape. I have rolled in a paper which contained a written location coordinate: 9.57° North | 078.82° West.
On 2004 Amos and I joined a sailing circumnavigation journey with our friend aboard his Sailing Yacht Amel 54″ yacht -‘Yonita’. We have started sailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, heading the golf of Mexico, Belize, Honduras and more on the way to cross the Pacific Ocean. Before reaching Panama Canal we have anchored in a breath taking bay in San Blas Islands.
Since then I am still longing to sail and anchor again in Green Island bay, longing to feel again the Atlantic breeze, endless horizon, softness of coral sand and nature view – fresh greens coconut palm trees facing turquoise color water.”
More stories to come about our circumnavigation sailing.
